Jerry Cook Scholarship
Scholarship recipients are selected by the Administration from each Laveen elementary school.
Jerry W Cook was a an active community member in Laveen. Jerry passed away at the age of 69 on July 27th, 2012.
Jerry retired after 32 years as a corporate instructor for Western Electric/AT&T. He proudly served in the US Air Force. Jerry had a phenomenal passion to serve his community and humbly served as President of the Laveen Lions Club and was an active member for many years. He also proudly served on the Laveen Community Council, was a substitute teacher for the Laveen School District, and volunteered for limitless events for the Laveen/South Mountain Village communities, always with a serving, loving and giving heart.
A scholarship fund was created in Jerry's name and each year a promoting student from the Laveen School District is awarded $200. The scholarship is deposited in the bookstore of the high school each student will be attending.
